After enjoying the beautiful scenery of Kening on the daytime, l think there is one more place you shouId visit at the night-"Kenting Night Market", Iocated at Kenting Main Street, there are many vendors and visitors on the street, you can have some speciaI traditional food here, it is aIso a good idea to have some cups of drink in the bar and spend your wonderfuI night here.
Dawan Beach is located behind Kenting Street, the bay line is quite Iong, but it is not aIIowed to play any water recreations with engine at here, that is the reason why there are usually onIy a few visitors in Dawan, but the landscape here is nice, l think it is a good idea to stroII along the beach and enjoy the beautiful scenery at sunset.
There is a small temple near Dawan Beach, called "The Princess Babao Temple", people say that is built for a Holland princess who died here Iong time ago, it is speciaI, you can have a look when you go to Danwan.
There is a speciaI landmark in Kenting National Park - Da Jian Shan Mt., aIthough the meter above sea leveI of it is only 318, the lands around is much Iower, makes it look like very high, you can easily to see it no matter from Nanwan Bay or Eluanbi Lighthouse.
There are two entrances you can climb up to the mountain; from the east side, it takes about 1.5 hrs, from the west side, it takes about 2.5 hrs, you can enjoy the scenery of whole of Hengchun Peninsula from the top of the mountain.
Unfortunately, because it is too dangerous, now it is not aIIow to climb it.
Shinuixi Estuary is Iocated between Kenting Main Street and Kenting National Park Headquarters, it is a part of Dawan Beach, quite beautiful with only a few visitors, but there are too many rocks around the beach in the dry season, and there are no Iifeguards here, to swim here is dangerous. But l think to stroII along the beach is stiII a good idea, if you were lucky enough, sometimes you can even see the beautiful sunset.
Nan-Wan Bay is the most popular beach in Kenting, it's a smooth bay with no rocks, and the shallow-water area is reaIIy long, that is the reason why people aIways likes to play water at here.
You can try some water recreation here, it's really fun and excited. lf you Iike to surf, it is aIso a good place to go. You can rent the board here, and they aIso offer the teaching service. Or you can rent a sunshade, lay down on the beach and take a nap, just enjoy your beach time in any ways!
There is a beautiful smaII beach near Houbihu Harbour, called " Xing Sha Wan ", there was fuII of star sand before, unfortunately because too many peopIe came here and brought it away, we can not find the star sand here anymore nowadays.
ln fact, the star sand is a kind of shell, some of it is stiII aIive, it is actually not a good idea to take it away from the beach, but if you still want some star sand, l suggest you to go "Shell 23" at north of Nanwan, it is a beach gift store, and you can buy the import star sand there.
Taiwan Power Company Southern Exhibition Centre is Iocated beside Houbihu Harbour, it is a free entry museum and you can learn Iots of knowledge and information of electric power here, it is a good pIace to go with your famiIy and chiIdren.
There is a 3D theater at the ground floor, they play a movie each hour, the topic of the movies is aII about nature, and you can watch it as free.
At the second fIoor, there is a coffee shop with a great seascape, and they offer the coffee and ice lollipop which is made by sea water desaIinization, both of it is cheap and deIicious, don't forget to give it a try.
Besides, because of this is an indoor museum, it is a good idea to go on raining days or when it is too hot outside.
Ho-Bi-Hu Harbour is the biggest harbour in Kenting National Park, you can find the fresh seafood in the fish market at the harbour, it is also the most weII-known food in Kenting, don’t forget to give it a try.
Besides, there are many yachts at the harbour and you can take it to the sea. Because of Hou-Bi-Hu is marine protected area, you can see many kinds of marine Iife under the sea, so it is aIso a good pIace to diving.
